PRIN: RESEARCH PROJECTS OF RELEVANT NATIONAL INTEREST

Reports

Welcome to the Public Deliverables of the PRISMA project. These deliverables present our research activities, results, and progress across the different work packages, supporting transparency and knowledge sharing with the wider community.

WP-0

Project Coordination and Management

UNIPARTHENOPE

WP0 ensures the overall coordination and management of the PRISMA project, guaranteeing effective planning, execution, integration of all work packages, and proper technical and financial reporting. It is chaired by the Principal Investigator.

WP-1

Coffee Supply Chain Network Definition

UNITUSCIA

WP1 focuses on analyzing and mapping all stakeholders (“players”) involved in the coffee supply chain to identify opportunities and challenges. It includes characterization of coffee consumption, spent coffee grounds properties, and by-products markets.

WP-2

 Circular Design Architecture

UNITUSCIA

WP2 evaluates the environmental, economic, and social impacts of the coffee supply chain by developing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC), and Social-LCA models. Environmental and monitoring indicators will be defined.

WP-3

Logistic Models Definition

CNR

WP3 studies the collection and logistics of spent coffee grounds and defines efficient transport and recovery systems using a Physical Internet approach. A web-based application will be designed to optimize collection and routing.

WP-4

Physical Internet Characterisation

UNICAS

WP4 conducts a systematic analysis of Physical Internet models and develops a reference framework for the coffee supply chain using Physical Internet concepts.

WP-5

Digital Platform Architecture

UNIPARTHENOPE

WP5 designs the digital architecture of the PRISMA platform, defining both general and technical requirements and developing a simulator to support the Physical Internet based coffee supply chain.

WP-6

Digital Platform Validation

UNIPARTHENOPE

WP6 validates and demonstrates the PRISMA platform through testing and real-case scenarios, ensuring system reliability and effectiveness.

WP-7

Dissemination and Communication

UNIPARTHENOPE

WP7 manages dissemination and communication activities through the development of communication tools such as the website, logo, brochures, and scientific publications.
